Music From Gecko® Commercials

Some of our commercials, featuring the Gecko, included some catchy tunes.  Do you recall these great TV spots and their music?

Central Daylight Time

In a campaign that saw the Gecko traveling across the country, his stop in Texas was a favorite of Gecko fans, country music buffs, and anyone who ever enjoyed a good two-step around the dance floor. The song is called "Central Daylight Time" by a group called Wrinkle Neck Mules; it appears on their album Apprentice to Ghosts released in February 2012. The Wrinkle Neck Mules are based in Richmond, Virginia although, as you might have suspected, two members hail from Texas. They released their first album in 2003.

You Can’t Stop Me

The iconic Brooklyn Bridge provided the setting for another in a series of commercials as the Gecko continued his journey across the country. The song "You Can’t Stop Me" is featured in this spot as the Gecko is seen crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. Perhaps the commercial's most memorable moment was the Gecko's utterance of the distinctly New York phrase "fuh-getta-boudit," as he temporaily adopts the accent of the region. The song "You Can't Stop Me" is by Crown Loyal, coincidentally from Brooklyn New York, and was recorded especially for this commercial.

"Get Down" from the Commercial "Presentation"

There was a commercial called "Presentation" which featured the Gecko and his boss encountering technical difficulties as they present slides at a meeting.  As they fumble with the buttons, they accidentally activate a disco ball and a music track.  The song is called "Get Down."  This original song had heads bobbing and feet tapping.

The Robot

Do you remember the Gecko dancing the robot?  The featured song in that commercial spot is called "Sweet World" by Comega Men.

Dogs

There was a memorable commercial featuring several cute dogs with their ears flapping in the breeze as they rode in various cars and trucks.  Do you remember the Gecko was riding in one of those cars?  For the "Dogs" ad, we used the song, "Lonesome Magic Vice Harvest" by Alexandre Geindre.

Lullaby

Do you remember the commercial with the car full of sleeping passengers, one of which was our very own Gecko?  The soothing guitar lullaby was “Asleep” by Candace Harrison.

CB Song

How about the commercial with the Gecko looking very hip wearing his shades and driving through a tunnel with his buddy?  The music used for that ad was courtesy of The Legendary Shack Shakers, and the name of the song is "CB Song".
