WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 3, 2008 - GEICO's board of directors recently announced that William (Bill) C. E. Robinson of Mitchellville, Md., has been elected corporate secretary of GEICO. He had served in the office of the general counsel since 2001.
Robinson joined GEICO in 1999 as a trial attorney in GEICO's Kensington, Md., staff counsel office. He transferred to the company's general counsel office in 2001.
"Bill has compiled a broad range of experience and exemplary track record of service to GEICO," said CEO Tony Nicely. "GEICO will benefit greatly from his insight and enthusiasm as he takes on this new challenge."
Robinson serves as secretary of the board for The Counsel for Court Excellence non-profit organization and he serves on the boards of the Frederick B. Abramson Memorial Foundation and Hesus Fund in New York non-profit organizations.
Robinson earned his bachelor's degree in history and his J.D. degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
