GEICO field representative honored as "Friends of the Navy"

SILVERDALE, Wash., Feb. 29, 2008 - Kevin Krieger of Tracyton, Wash., received a 2007 "Friends of the Navy" award from the U.S. Navy for his support of sailors and their families in the Pacific Northwest. Krieger is a GEICO Field Representative (GFR) serving customers in Washington.

Krieger's outreach to the military community includes car seat loaner programs, military appreciation events, children's holiday letters, gifts for honored military members and sports sponsorships.

"Any contributions that I have made pale in comparison to the sacrifices that the men and women of our Armed Services have made," said Krieger. "Words can't express how honored I feel right now."

Rear Admiral James Symonds, Commander Navy Region Northwest, said at the presentation, "Mr. Krieger has shown proactive and unselfish support of the sailors and marines in our area, and his commitment and extraordinary contributions to the local military community merit this special recognition."

"Kevin has gone above and beyond with his commitment and contributions to the military community," said Richard Kidd, Sgt. Maj. of the Army (Ret.) and vice president of GEICO's GFR sales management/military departments "We are fortunate to have such an admirable person representing GEICO."

Krieger joined GEICO in 1999 as a GEICO Field Representative and currently manages his GEICO office at 3035 NW Bucklin Hill Rd., Silverdale.

Krieger holds an associate in arts degree from Olympic College in Bremerton, Wash., and a bachelor's degree in business from Texas A & M University - Kingsville, originally Texas A & I (Arts and Industry). He currently serves on both the Bremerton and Silverdale Chambers of Commerce.
