VIRGINIA BEACH., April 21, 2008 - GEICO honored Jason Burnside of Moyock, N.C., and Bruce Krakower of Virginia Beach, Va., with a Corporate Quality Award during special ceremonies today in Washington, D.C.
The two GEICO associates accepted a Corporate Quality Award on behalf of their team which helped implement a new business Internet platform for GEICO's Powersports business, earning GEICO's Award for Innovation.
Burnside has worked at GEICO for four years at the Virginia Beach, Va., regional office and is currently a regional systems coordinator. Upon receiving the award he said, "I am happy to accept this award on behalf of my team. There were many long hours put into this project, but it is great to see the fantastic outcome, our Cycle internet application went from 80 percent real time quotes to 96 percent as well as the ability for our customers to buy a policy online."
Krakower, who has worked for GEICO for nine years at its Virginia Beach, Va., location, currently serves as a lead programmer analyst. He added, "It is very satisfying to know that all the long hours, hard work and acquired knowledge actually impacts the GEICO bottom line in a tangible way, and to see that effect."
