MACON, Ga., April 25, 2008 - As part of National Rebuilding Day, more than 65 GEICO associates will help repair and rehabilitate the houses of needy or disabled local residents on Saturday, April 26 when they team up with Rebuilding Together Macon.
The volunteers from GEICO's Macon office will paint, weatherize, clean and help with plumbing, roofing, electrical work and other carpentry repairs in an effort to revitalize local homes during this special nationwide event.
"The success of Rebuilding Together Macon is built with community partnerships. More than 40 organizations will work together to enhance the lives of our neighbors on Saturday. We are so pleased that GEICO has continued to support us for over 14 years," said Debra Rollins, Rebuilding Together Macon development director.
John Izzo, regional vice president of GEICO Macon's office, added, "Due to the large number of volunteers, our associates will work on two homes for the second year in a row. GEICO is dedicated to the community in which we work and we encourage all of our associates to get involved. Even the GEICO Gecko will be there to help out."
The first home that GEICO volunteers will help repair is located on Mohawk Road and the second is on Veal Road.
