GEICO Names Franklin Silva Assistant Vice President

SAN DIEGO, February 26, 2007 - GEICO's board of directors recently named Franklin Silva an assistant vice president at the company's San Diego regional office in Poway, Calif., with responsibility for underwriting, policy sales and policy service.

Silva currently serves as sales process coordinator at the company's headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md.

In 1993, Silva began his GEICO career as an insurance counselor at the company's Macon, Ga., office. He became a sales and service supervisor in 1995, and continued to serve in a variety of supervisory capacities until 1999, when he was named a manager. In 2001, Silva became manager of sales and service, and in 2002, moved to GEICO's Virginia Beach, Va., regional office to be director of sales and service until 2005 when he transferred to Chevy Chase, Md.

He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mercer University in Macon, Ga.
