MACON, Ga., April 27, 2007 - GEICO associates will help bring great rewards to local homeowners on Saturday, April 28 as they roll up their sleeves for Rebuilding Together Macon, part of National Rebuilding Day.
More than 50 volunteers from GEICO's Macon office will paint, weatherize, build wheelchair ramps, repair plumbing, mend roofs, perform carpentry repairs, and do yard work in an effort to rehabilitate homes during this special nationwide event.
"The success of Macon's Rebuilding Together project is built with community partnerships. On Saturday, over 40 organizations will come together to enhance the lives for elderly and disabled homeowners. We're proud that GEICO has chosen to be among those organizations," said Gracen Strong, Rebuilding Together Macon development director.
Mary Zarcone, regional vice president of GEICO Macon's office, added, "Due to the large number of volunteers, our associates will work on two homes this year. GEICO is dedicated to bettering our local community and we encourage all of our associates to get involved. Even the GEICO Gecko® will be there to help out."
The first home that GEICO volunteers will help repair is located on May Avenue and the second is on Ingleside Avenue.
