FAIRFAX, Va., May 3, 2007 - GEICO honored Dale Sheads of Fairfax, Va., and Barry Martin of Warner Robins, Ga., with a Corporate Quality Award during special ceremonies last week in Washington, D.C.

As part of a team effort, the two GEICO associates managed the automation of systems to simplify billing, financial record-keeping and associate-policyholder communication, winning the team the Award for Business Excellence.

Sheads has worked at GEICO for over nine years. He is currently a project lead for information services at corporate headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md. Upon receiving the award he said, "Representing my project team was a highlight of my career at GEICO because I was representing a group of people whose dedication resulted in one of the most successful large project implementations ever at GEICO. It was truly a corporate-wide effort, with support and coordination from many teams. Without their commitment, the project would not have been successful. Being part of that experience makes all the work worthwhile."

Martin has been with GEICO for 18 years. He has worked on corporate projects and is a project manager at GEICO's Macon, Ga., regional office. He said, "Accepting the 2006 Corporate Quality Award for Business Excellence on behalf of the project team was truly an honor.
