GEICO Honors Ranga Ocholi with 2007 Achievement Award

BUFFALO, N.Y., July 12, 2007 - GEICO is awarding Ranga Ocholi of Rochester, N.Y., a 2007 GEICO Achievement Award for outstanding academic excellence and valuable contributions to the campus and community. Ocholi is receiving one of five achievement awards of $500 issued by GEICO to students in the Buffalo area.

Ocholi is a corporate finance major at the University of Buffalo and is planning to graduate in May, 2009. Named Urban League Black Scholar, Ocholi received the Daniel Ackers scholarship for academic merit and participated in an InRoads internship. Ocholi volunteers at Foodlink, the Center for Youth and the Duck Race working to end racism.

GEICO has presented Achievement Awards to students from all over the country for their academic and extracurricular activities for over 20 years. This year GEICO will award over $60,000 in Achievement Awards to college sophomores or juniors based on his or her academic achievements and contributions to their campus and community. The GEICO awards will be used toward tuition and books for the fall 2007 semester.
