FREDERICKSBURG, Va., October 15, 2007 – Kevin Grenier of Derwood, Md., has been named head of underwriting activities for the company's regional headquarters in Fredericksburg, Va. Grenier, an assistant vice president, previously held management responsibilities in GEICO's underwriting and product management department at its corporate headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md.
In Fredericksburg, he will oversee underwriting, product management and actuarial functions for GEICO's Mid-Atlantic region.

Grenier began his career with GEICO in 2001, prior to which he had a 20-year career with Hartford Insurance, managing several Hartford offices. He also worked at Harleysville Insurance and served as operations officer of a managing general agency.
He is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University and earned his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1995.
