GEICO names Dina Pon assistant vice president

MACON, Ga., Dec. 27, 2007 – GEICO's board of directors recently announced that Dina Pon was elected assistant vice president with underwriting responsibilities for GEICO's Southeast operations, headquartered in the Macon, Ga., regional center.

Since 2005, Pon has managed GEICO's Coralville, Iowa, operations, and is now relocating back to Macon.

Pon began her GEICO career in 1993 in underwriting sales in the Macon office, where she advanced to supervisor before transferring to the Coralville office in 1998. In 1999, Pon transferred to the Dallas office where she served as a new business underwriting manager and sales manager before moving to the company's headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md., in September 2004 to enter the executive assistant program.

"I am very excited about this opportunity and returning to Macon where I started my GEICO career," Pon said of her new position. "I look forward to working with the underwriting team as we serve our customers, both internal and external, countrywide."

She holds a bachelor's degree in business from Wesleyan College and an MBA from Mercer University.

"Her expertise and knowledge of GEICO operations have prepared her well for this next challenge and we're fortunate to have someone with her background to head this crucial function."
