VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Dec. 27, 2007 – GEICO's board of directors recently announced that Matt Mitchell of Kensington, Md., was elected assistant vice president with responsibility for GEICO's claims operations in the company's Virginia Beach, Va., regional center.
Mitchell joined GEICO in 1983 as a telephone adjuster and advanced to continuing unit examiner and supervisor. He supervised the claims home office performance review team at the company's headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md., and has also served at the company's Fredericksburg, Va., San Diego, Calif., and Macon, Ga., regional offices in claims capacities.
"I'm excited about the prospect of overseeing such a fine claims department in Virginia Beach.," Mitchell said of his new opportunity. "I look forward to working with the associates there as we make our services even better.
