Mark Binning Honored with GEICO Achievement Award

CORALVILLE, IOWA, Jan. 29, 2008 - GEICO awarded Mark Binning of Wilton, Iowa, a GEICO Achievement Award of $2,500 for his outstanding academic excellence and his valuable contributions to his campus and community.

Binning is a business major at the University of Iowa who maintains a 3.98 G.P.A. in addition to working a minimum of 25 hours per week. Some of his community work consists of assisting a paralyzed man with his weekly walk in the mall. Binning was selected as one of 12 members of the Leadership Institute; he belongs to the recreational club (SCUBA) for scuba diving and volunteers for the University of Iowa Career Fair.

GEICO has presented Achievement Awards to students from all over the country for their academic and extracurricular activities for over 20 years. This year GEICO will award over $60,000 in Achievement Awards to college sophomores or juniors based on his or her academic achievements and contributions to their campus and community.
