WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 15, 2008 - GEICO's NASCAR driver Mike Wallace, his cousin Lauren Wallace, and the entire GEICO 7 racing team are raising the door to geicogarage.com on Saturday, Feb. 16. This entertaining new GEICO site invites visitors to interact with the racing team and get "up close and personal" with driver Mike Wallace, cousin Lauren, and lots of special guests. There are hidden surprises within the site and a stern warning for any 'nosy little shop rats.'
"It's going to be an interactive experience for race fans like they've never seen before," said Wallace. "Some of my friends from the top ranks of open-wheel racing are hanging out at geicogarage.com, and I'm very pleased to have my daughter, Chrissy Wallace, joining me. Of course we can't forget cousin Lauren. He always seems to show up for big events."
Visitors to the site may interact with Wallace, special guests and crew and see what really goes on behind the closed doors of a racing garage. You can take a peek under the hood of the GEICO number 7 car, but be careful not to distract the crew. Visitors can also slip into the hauler that brings the number 7 to each race, but be warned; this is a work zone and the GEICO Racing Team is in it to win it. Lauren offers his analysis of pit crew readiness at the pit box "war wagon" command center. Visitors may even test their racing IQ and see if they qualify as certified "gearheads." Take an insider's look at the crew, gear and special guests of the GEICO garage at geicogarage.com
Coming off of his best NASCAR Busch Series points finish, 11th in 2007, Wallace is geared up to start his 2008 season off in Daytona with a big win in the Number 7 GEICO Camry. It may well be his favorite track since he's visited victory lane at Daytona three times in the past, twice in his NASCAR racing career and once in ARCA. Wallace, driving for Germain Racing, is focusing on one thing as the season begins - winning again at Daytona.
But Mike better keep an eye on his ambitious cousin Lauren. "In case no one told you," Lauren likes to say, "I'm the future around here."
