WASHINGTON, D.C., January 9, 2009 – GEICO auto damage adjusters have been deployed into areas in the Pacific Northwest, and will continue to work with policyholders as communities affected by the flooding become accessible.
GEICO adjusters are in accessible communities, and will move into additional affected areas as evacuation orders and road closures are lifted in the coming days.
"Our associates are already working with policyholders in any area where we can access residents or repair facilities," said Greg Kalinsky, GEICO’s regional vice president for the West Coast. "Our policyholder’s safety is our primary concern. All residents should heed emergency services warnings and evacuation orders, and not underestimate the power and depth of these floodwaters. While the water may look shallow and calm, most vehicles are no match for the strong currents and large pools that these floods have created."
GEICO urges policyholders whose cars have been damaged in the recent flood to report their claims as early as possible. To reach GEICO’s claims team at anytime, 24 hours a day, call 1-866-435-1968, or report the claim on GEICO’s Web site, www.geico.com.
