BOSTON, May 18, 2009 – GEICO associates began providing online quotes to Massachusetts drivers today, and company representatives marked the occasion with an informal reception this morning in Boston to meet state and local officials.

"We have been looking forward to serving Massachusetts drivers for a long time," said Steve Cunningham, regional vice president, who hosted today’s event. "We are very happy to be here and doing business with Massachusetts residents.  We think we can bring them low rates and great service."

Chairman Tony Nicely added, "We have tremendous respect for members of the Massachusetts regulatory and legislative community. We know they want the best for the residents of the Commonwealth. Our goals are very much the same, and we will work hard to make sure we continue to earn the trust of those we work with and those we serve."

GEICO’s first Massachusetts policy was sold today to Beth Opishinski of Whitman, Mass. Drivers may go to geico.com to get a rate quote.
