John D. O'Bryant High School Soccer Team Kicks Out Old Uniforms and Scores a New Set From Good Sports and GEICO

ROXBURY, Mass., August 27, 2009 – Tough economic times have forced many people to prioritize their expenses, and the John D. O'Bryant High School soccer team in Roxbury was no exception. Budget money was carefully allocated, making the team a huge success on the field, but forcing the need for new uniforms farther down the priority list.

The O'Bryant soccer team will now be able to cross that wish off its list, thanks to the new uniforms that Good Sports and GEICO will present to team members on August 28 at the John D. O'Bryant High School.

"This donation gives the team a new sense of pride," said Ian Doreian, O'Bryant soccer team coach. He hopes that it adds to the team's already impressive winning record of nearly 80 percent.

The donation is part of a community partnership between Good Sports and GEICO that will help bring new equipment and resources to youth sports organizations in the Boston area throughout 2009.

"We are thrilled to be working with GEICO to give these kids the opportunity to engage in sports and all of the associated benefits," said Good Sports Chief Operating Officer Christy Keswick. "It is great to be part of a partnership with a corporation that wants to give back to the Boston region as much as we do."

Through this partnership, Good Sports and GEICO hope that the O'Bryant soccer team will continue to achieve remarkable successes both on and off the field, and be a positive influence for Roxbury's youth.

"Sporting programs like the O'Bryant soccer team give kids a place to channel their energy into positive experiences, which also set a good example for their peers," said GEICO Vice President Rynthia Rost.
