GEICO associates wrap their way into the hearts of others

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 14, 2010 – This holiday season, GEICO associates again donated dozens of hours of their personal time to wrap presents at a local Borders book store to benefit the not-for-profit organization, Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D).

"GEICO employees really came through for us this year—even when a blizzard came through the weekend before Christmas," said Carol Remington, office manager for RFB&D. "We cannot thank them enough for their help this holiday season; GEICO employees helped contribute to the more than $4,000 we were able to raise this year."

RFB&D serves children and adults who have visual impairments such as blindness or learning disabilities like dyslexia. RFB&D's collection of digitally recorded textbooks and literature give thousands of people access to reading materials that they may not have otherwise gotten.

"The willingness of GEICO associates to help others never ceases to amaze me," said Rynthia Rost, vice president of GEICO. "We've been wrapping presents for RFB&D for several years now and I don't foresee us stopping. Even a blizzard won't keep us away!"
