TUCSON, Ariz., March 1, 2010 – GEICO's board of directors recently named Rhett Rayburn assistant vice president of the four GEICO property casualty companies and appointed him to head claims activities in the company's Tucson, Ariz., office.
Rayburn began his career at GEICO as a telephone claims representative trainee in Virginia Beach, Va., in 1992. He advanced through several claims positions in the company's Virginia Beach and Macon, Ga., offices and served as claims liability director in the company's Lakeland, Fla., office.
He has managed personal injury protection, payment recovery and claim service representative units. He served as liability process coordinator with the competitive advantage leadership group, and then completed the executive assistant program before assuming his most recent position as a liability director in the company's San Diego office.
"Rhett's experience in all aspects of our claims operations make him uniquely qualified for his new role," said Senior Vice President Don Lyons. "Our Tucson office, and the six states it serves, will benefit from his additional claims focus."

Rayburn earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama and holds Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and GEICO Certified Underwriter designations.
