Washington D.C., July 9, 2010 – Priscilla Geisler of Marriottsville, Md., was the winner of an ATV raffled off by Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) at the recent 11th annual Maryland COPS motorcycle ride at the Howard County fairgrounds.
The ATV was donated for the COPS fund-raiser by Alyssa Palermo, a local GEICO representative in Frederick, Md. COPS is a national nonprofit providing emotional, financial and legal support to the family and friends of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The organization has numerous programs and services to help survivors cope, which include scholarships, peer support, and counseling programs.
“My involvement with COPS - Maryland Chapter began in June of 2009. This organization is important to me because my husband spent 17 years in law enforcement,” said Palermo. “I donated the ATV to COPS so that they could raise money to provide programs and services for the survivors of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.”
