GEICO teams up with the John Avery Boys & Girls Club, Durham to support Project Learn

DURHAM, N.C., August 11, 2010 – GEICO recently pledged its support to the John Avery Boys & Girls Club, Durham for Project Learn offered in afterschool and summer camp programs.

Project Learn is one of the Club’s featured programs that helps educate children by focusing on interactive activities and positive reinforcement. GEICO becomes the partner of John Avery for the 2010/2011 school year.

“We are so grateful to GEICO for providing funding for Project Learn in 2010. This grant is an investment in the lives of our children, and it will pay dividends for many years,” said Sheila Ryba, executive director of the John Avery Boys & Girls Club, Durham. “These children are our future. Durham and the world beyond will be better because we believed in them and supported their growth and development.”

John Avery Boys & Girls Club serves approximately 600 children every year through its After-School and Summer FUN Camp programs. John Avery aims to make a fundamental difference in the lives of all youth and provides a safe alternative for youth between the ages of six and 18.
