WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct., 28, 2010 – Robin Burdick has been named vice president of the GEICO companies. In her new role, she will direct the continued growth and expansion of GEICO’s field representative (GFR) program at the company’s headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md. Burdick previously served as assistant vice president of underwriting for the company’s Lakeland, Fla., regional office.
“Robin has managed underwriting activities for our Florida operations through an exceptional period of growth,” said Tony Nicely, GEICO chief executive officer. “She is joining a unit that has grown even faster in recent years, but she is ready for this challenge.”
Burdick joined GEICO in 1975 as an underwriter in the Macon, Ga., regional office. During her tenure, she has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in underwriting and sales, including sales supervisor, underwriting manager and sales and service director.
Burdick holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga.
