GEICO GloveBox offers quotes and sales on multiple systems and smartphones
WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 25, 2011 – As the demand for information on the go continues to grow, GEICO leads the mobile technology landscape with its growing family of auto insurance applications. The company started 2011, its 75th anniversary, by becoming the first auto carrier in the nation to offer the ability to buy a policy completely via mobile. As more and more consumers use their smartphones to conduct business, GEICO’s new sales capability adds another quick and easy way to purchase policies online.
Throughout 2010, GEICO launched versions of its top-rated GloveBox mobile application for the iPhone, Android, BlackBerry®, iPad, iPod Touch, and Windows Phone 7 operating systems. Earlier this year, the company also released the innovative SnapQuote application, which enables consumers to get an auto insurance quote by taking a photo of their driver’s license and sending it directly to an online site.

The company also added a number of useful customer features to its GloveBox app over recent months. From changing a phone number, to tracking a claim, to inserting the GEICO Caveman into a photo, GloveBox has the widest range of functionality available from any auto carrier mobile application. So consumers without a smartphone are not left out, GEICO also recently launched a mobile Website with many of the same features as GloveBox.
