DALLAS, Texas, May25, 2011 – In the wake of the recent tornadoes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, GEICO's Catastrophe Team (CAT) and claims teams are ready to assist policyholders affected.

"After the recent tornadoes that hit Dallas, Texas and other parts of the country these past few days, we want to make sure that our customers are safe," said Nancy Pierce, GEICO’s vice president of claims. "We’re doing everything we can to lighten the burden on our policyholders; we have added staff to make sure all claims are handled quickly so that we can get our policyholders back on the road as soon as possible."

To ensure the safety of its policyholders, GEICO encourages residents to get in touch with their local authorities to find more information regarding temporary housing, school cancellations and other pertinent information. If your vehicle has been damaged by the recent storms, especially if windows are broken, GEICO recommends covering it with plastic or other material to protect it from further damage.
