WASHINGTON, D.C., July 25, 2011 – While celebrating its 25th anniversary, the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) located in Washington, D.C. is also celebrating a generous contribution from GEICO in honor of its 25 years of serving the Washington community.
GEICO Philanthropic Foundation has committed $150,000 to support the hospital’s mission and was a founding supporter of NRH at its inception. Nancy Pierce, GEICO vice president, will present the check to the hospital on July 27.
"Over the past 25 years, we have witnessed National Rehabilitation Hospital successfully serve the community through quality patient care, rehabilitation research, education and training, assistive technology and advocacy," said Pierce. "We are proud to support the hospital’s commitment to helping those injured in auto or other accidents."
NRH offers inpatient, outpatient and day treatment services to patients with a variety of physical disabilities. In addition to the GEICO Driver Training Program, NRH provides a number of specialty services including vocational services, sleep studies, clinics for seating and mobility, spasticity, rehabilitation engineering and prosthetics and orthotics.
