GEICO's Dan Corridon Elected President of SILA

Washington, D.C., December 13, 2011 – Dan Corridon of Rockville, Md. has been elected president of the Securities Insurance Licensing Association (SILA).

As the director of licensing administration at GEICO, Corridon attributes much of the advancement in GEICO's licensing process to the relationships he's built over years as an active, well-respected member of SILA. He has written articles for SILA’s newsletter, presented at open and break-out sessions during conferences, and worked with industry peers, state insurance regulators and commissioners to foster reciprocity and uniformity of state licensing requirements.

"I've seen the level of effort Dan has put into his presentations on licensing issues for both state and national organizations," said John Quagliato, GEICO’s assistant vice president of claims. "The honor of being appointed president of SILA is a testament to his commitment to making positive changes for both the industry and insurance consumers."

SILA provides an educational forum for members of the insurance licensing and securities registration industries. The organization brings together companies, vendors and regulators to streamline and improve licensing and registration across the country. Corridon made the transition from president-elect to president at SILA’s annual conference in Austin, Texas in October and will run his term through December 2012.
