Fredericksburg, Va., June 5, 2012 – Nancy Pierce has been named vice president of GEICO’s Fredericksburg, Va., regional office with responsibilities for Mid-Atlantic operations. Prior to the announcement, she served as vice president for GEICO’s Claims Home Office operations in the company’s headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md.
Pierce assumed her new duties on June 1, 2012, succeeding John Izzo as regional vice president in Fredericksburg. Izzo retired following 38 years of service with GEICO.
This is not Pierce’s first GEICO assignment in Fredericksburg. In 1996, she served the Fredericksburg office as assistant vice president of underwriting and then was named vice president of underwriting and product management in 1998. In 2000, Pierce went on to head GEICO’s West Coast operations in San Diego, Calif., before returning to Fredericksburg to serve as regional vice president in 2006. In 2008, she took on responsibilities for GEICO’s claims home office operations in Chevy Chase, Md. Pierce, a graduate of The American University in Washington, D.C., joined GEICO in 1986.
Izzo also served in GEICO’s Fredericksburg regional office on different occasions throughout his 38-year career with the company. In 1993, he was elected assistant vice president of underwriting and then he went on to head Fredericksburg’s MOAT operations in 1996. In 1999, Izzo moved to Virginia Beach, Va., to manage the newly-expanded regional center, and in 2001, he returned to Fredericksburg to serve as regional vice president. From 2005 to 2008, Izzo headed GEICO’s Macon, Ga., regional office before returning to Fredericksburg to serve as vice president.
