GEICO wins Clean Commute Contest

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 6, 2012 – In recognition of its ongoing efforts to lessen the environmental impact of its associates, GEICO was named one of two winners of the Maryland Green Registry and Clean Air Partners Clean Commute Contest. GEICO was selected as a winner of the contest for having the highest actual reduction in employee commute miles and was presented the award at a ceremony last night in Columbia, Md.

The Maryland Green Registry and Clean Air Partners Clean Commute Contest was created to recognize organizations that have reduced employee vehicle commute miles by encouraging employees to walk, bike, use mass transit, rideshare, telecommute or work compressed work weeks.
