GEICO moves in CAT teams to assist victims affected by Dallas hail storms

DALLAS, June 14, 2012 – In the wake of yesterday’s intense hail storms that swept the Dallas-Fort Worth area, GEICO is moving in a Catastrophe Claims Team to assist policyholders affected by the recent storm.

GEICO urges policyholders to report their claims as early as possible. To reach GEICO's claims team anytime, 24 hours a day, call 1-800-841-3000, or report the claim on GEICO's website, www.geico.com.

“We are aware of the serious damage that storms cause, particularly if there’s hail. It may be difficult or even impossible for drivers to use their cars,” said Gary Brown, GEICO’s regional vice president. “We want to make sure the claims are handled quickly and that there’s minimal inconvenience for our policyholders. We’re working to get them back on the road as soon as possible.”

If your vehicle has been damaged by the recent storms, especially if windows are broken, GEICO recommends covering it with plastic or other material to protect it from further damage.
