GEICO sponsors Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride

Wounded Warriors™ to Cycle through New York City, Long Island and the Hamptons from July 19-21

WOODBURY, N.Y., July 12, 2012 – From July 19-21, Wounded Warrior Project’s (WWP) Soldier Ride returns to where it all began in 2004: New York.

The cycling event, launched in 2004 when Chris Carney of Long Island, N.Y., rode coast to coast in support of Wounded Warrior Project, encourages the public to honor injured veterans of this generation recovering from the physical and psychological effects of war.

Sponsored by GEICO, Soldier Ride is an opportunity for the public to support those military men and women by either cheering on the riders during the event or in some cases riding along with them.

“GEICO is honored to partner with Wounded Warrior Project’s Soldier Ride,” said Michael Baker, GEICO director of military marketing. “Military personnel have been an important part of our business since our company was founded in 1936, and we’re proud to continue to support the service men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country.”
