CORALVILLE, Iowa, November 17, 2012 – In the fifteen years that GEICO has been in Coralville, the company’s 350 associates have become a pivotal part of the company’s sales and service operations as well as the local community. Coralville associates have gone the extra mile volunteering at local organizations especially during the holiday season.
“This time of the year, the holidays lights are spectacular and the meals are delicious and the gift giving is a lot of fun, but they are among the furthest things from your mind if you are in need,” said Gary Brown, GEICO regional vice president. “At GECIO, the holidays have always been a time for giving back to the community. GEICO has a good citizens group that coordinates its civic and charitable activities and involvement.”
In 2011, GEICO associates contributed an average of $100 through the local United Way campaign. The company participates in Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, the Special Olympics and the March of Dimes walk each year. While communities on the east coast waited for official disaster relief, Coralville associates mobilized in support of Hurricane Sandy victims to help out with supplies and raising donations.
