Macon, Ga., November 26, 2012 – In recognition for its efforts to expand the local economy and its ongoing community leadership, GEICO’s Macon office was named 2012 “Business of the Year” by the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. For nearly 40 years, GEICO has supported the Macon region through economic growth, charitable contributions and community involvement.
In June 1973, GEICO opened its doors in a small start-up office in downtown Macon with less than two dozen associates and later moved to Ocmulgee East Boulevard with 750 associates. Today, GEICO’s two regional operations centers in Macon are home to nearly 4,700 associates and those offices make up the largest GEICO contingent in the country.
