BOSTON, September 19, 2013 – The public is invited to take part in the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) Soldier Ride®, sponsored by GEICO, on its next stop in Boston, Mass., on Saturday, Sept. 21. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the start time is 9 a.m. The ride will both start and finish at The Old Manse, 269 Monument St., Concord, Mass., and a community picnic for all registered participants will take place at the end of the ride.
Members of the community are encouraged to participate by either signing up to ride or by joining the crowd from the sidelines with the GEICO Gecko to cheer on the riders. For registration, a map of the route and additional details on the ride, visit www.soldierride.org/boston.
Soldier Ride brings Wounded Warriors from the region and across the country together for a long weekend focused on physical health and wellness, camaraderie and healing. Events include a bike fitting where warriors are fit with adaptive equipment, and two days of rides. During the ride, WWP provides state-of-the-art cycling equipment to Wounded Warriors at no cost, which includes adaptive hand cycles, trikes and bicycles to accommodate various injuries and disabilities, as well as unmodified road bikes for riders not requiring adaptive equipment.
