GEICO reaches 1 million policies in force in California

SAN DIEGO, Calif., May 6, 2012GEICO reached a significant milestone in California this month, surpassing one million policies in force. The benchmark reflects GEICO's continued growth and increased market share throughout the country.

Not only is it a great time to be join the GEICO family as a customer, it's also a great time to join the more than 2,000 associates working in the company's West Coast regional operations. This year GEICO plans to hire almost 400 associates in customer service, sales, claims, legal staff and support positions in San Diego. Associates in the company's San Diego regional office marked the achievement at a celebration last week. GEICO began operating a downtown office branch in San Diego in 1965 and moved to its current facility in 1999.

Coverage for life, homes and apartments is written by non-affiliated insurance companies and is secured through the GEICO Insurance Agency.
