GEICO names Joe Nestegard assistant vice president of Tucson claims operation

TUCSON, ARIZ., July 30, 2013 – Joe Nestegard has been named assistant vice president of claims for GEICO's Tucson regional office.  Previously, Nestegard served as the auto damage director of GEICO's Fredericksburg, Va., regional operations.

Nestegard joined GEICO in 1988 as an auto damage adjuster in Atlanta, Ga., and advanced through the ranks to become a supervisor in Pensacola, Fla., in 1993, before taking on the challenge of auto damage manager in 1997. In 2002, he was promoted to auto damage director for GEICO's Virginia Beach regional office prior to assuming the auto damage director's role in Fredericksburg in 2012.

Nestegard graduated with honors from Georgia College and State University, Milledgeville, Ga., with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He currently serves on the Executive Board of Drive Smart Virginia. Nestegard succeeded Rhett Rayburn as claims assistant vice president, when Rayburn was named vice president of GEICO's southeast region in Macon, Ga.
