GEICO's response teams ready to assist following Midwest tornadoes

WASHINGTON, Ill., November 19, 2013 – Following the recent tornadoes that swept through Illinois and other parts of the Midwest, GEICO has prepared response teams to assist policyholders affected by the storms.

Policyholders are urged to report the claim on GEICO's website, or contact GEICO's claims team anytime, 24 hours a day, at (800) 841-3000.

"Our top priority is the safety of our policyholders and helping them recover from devastating storms like the ones in the Midwest," said Ryan West, GEICO's vice president of claims. "We want to make sure our teams are prepared and ready to assist customers in getting their claims handled as quickly as possible."

To ensure the safety of its policyholders, GEICO encourages residents to stay in touch with local authorities for the latest information about temporary housing and other pertinent information. If your vehicle has been damaged by the recent storms, especially if windows are broken, GEICO recommends covering it with plastic or other material to protect it from further damage.
