GEICO names Eric Stafford assistant vice president

INDIANAPOLIS, June 30, 2014 – Eric Stafford has been named assistant vice president of GEICO's Indianapolis office. Previously, Stafford served as director of sales and service for the company's Virginia Beach, Virginia, regional office as well as GEICO's countrywide military team. Stafford succeeds Gary McKenzie, who will lead underwriting at GEICO's Fredericksburg, Virginia, regional operation.

Stafford began his career at GEICO in 1994 as an underwriter and transitioned into the management and training team for sales with the GEICO Insurance Agency before being selected as planning and control manager of GEICO's Fredericksburg office.

Stafford then held a number of positions at GEICO's corporate headquarters, starting as the director of productivity before being selected as part of the implementation team for the Competitive Advantage Process. He earned the Black Belt designation for process improvement and led GEICO’s customer retention efforts as the retention process coordinator. In 2008, he relocated to Virginia Beach and served as the region's service and underwriting director before leading sales and service.

Stafford has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech.
