GEICO names Kevin Kawa assistant vice president

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 30, 2014 – Kevin Kawa of Chicago has been named assistant vice president and will lead GEICO's staff counsel operations for the Midwest and areas west of the Mississippi, excluding Louisiana.

Kawa had been staff counsel director for the company's regional operations in Macon, Georgia, since 2011. He joined GEICO in 1996 as managing attorney of the staff counsel office in Chicago, which consisted of two attorneys and an assistant; that office now includes 10 attorneys.

“Kevin has shown outstanding leadership and organizational skills leading staff counsel in our Macon regional operations, and we're confident that he's very well prepared for these new responsibilities,” said Lily Hopkins, staff counsel vice president.

Kawa earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona State University and his juris doctor degree from DePaul University.
