With a click of a mouse, tech savvy Dallas student purchases GEICO's 13th million policy

DALLAS, Oct., 21, 2014 – Who would have thought buying car insurance online would turn into GEICO history. That's exactly what happened when Jay and Lindsey Armstrong signed up recently for a new auto insurance policy on geico.com. With the click of a mouse, the Dallas couple made the record-breaking purchase, propelling GEICO to the 13 million policy mark.

The couple was reviewing different auto insurance companies online, looking at coverage, comparing quotes and reading customer reviews. They chose GEICO because of the company's easy online sales process, price discounts and mainly positive customer comments.

"I consider myself tech savvy so I was paying close attention to the convenience and functionality of the GEICO website," said Armstrong. Armstrong is a student and works two jobs and he and Lindsey are always busy.  They conduct a lot of their business over the Internet. "Because of our hectic schedules, it's easier and convenient for us to shop online," said Armstrong. "This was the first time we have ever purchased insurance online so it was a good experience."

As for helping GEICO reach its historic milestone, Armstrong mentioned that it all came as a shock. "At the time we had no idea that we had just bought GEICO's 13 millionth policy," said Armstrong. "When we were told of the good news, you can imagine we were both a bit surprised. We are just happy that we found the right car insurance at a great price."
