GEICO inducted into USO-Metro's 2014 Circle of Stars
WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 28, 2014 – GEICO has been inducted into the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore's (USO-Metro) Circle of Stars for the third year in a row. GEICO received the honor for its sponsorship of the USO Airport Lounge at Ronald Reagan National Airport and for its support of USO-Metro's largest fundraising event, the Annual Awards Dinner.
"USO airport lounges are such a critical part of what the USO is all about," said Elaine Rogers, president and CEO of the USO-Metro. "These lounges literally serve thousands of traveling military members and their families every year. It is thanks to the generous support of corporations like GEICO that USO-Metro is able to provide a safe and comfortable place for our troops and their families as they travel the world to serve our country."
GEICO is a long-time supporter of the United States armed forces and USO-Metro. Tony Nicely, chairman and CEO of GEICO, is a member of USO-Metro's Honorary Board Committee.
"GEICO is proud to partner with USO to provide our military service members access to outstanding programs and services, and we're thankful to be recognized for that by being inducted into USO-Metro's Circle of Stars," said Mike Baker, GEICO's director of military marketing. "By supporting USO-Metro and the USO Airport Lounge at Ronald Reagan National Airport, we know we're truly making a difference in the lives of military service members and their families."
USO-Metro recognized GEICO and its other Circle of Stars honorees at its 11th Annual Stars and Stripes Night in Arlington, Va., on Friday, Oct. 24.
