GEICO expands Renton office; will add 200 new associates

RENTON, Wash., Jan. 13, 2015 – GEICO has a variety of new opportunities brewing in the Greater Seattle area. The company announced today it will substantially expand its claims operation in Renton, adding 200 associates during the next 18 months due to the company's continuing growth.

GEICO is now recruiting for its accelerated Management Development Program and for several claims positions.

GEICO's Management Development Program offers more than two years of specialized training. Complete training is also provided for liability claims representatives and claims service representatives. Claims associates provide GEICO's customers with information and education throughout the claims process from start to finish.

"Year after year GEICO sees record growth across the country, and this new office in Renton is yet another testament to that growth," said Tony Nicely, chairman and CEO of GEICO. "We couldn't be more excited to expand in such a vibrant market, and we look forward to continuing to provide the highest quality of service to our customers."

Mike Quesada, who heads GEICO's Renton office, said that currently, with more than 400,000 GEICO insured vehicles in the state, there is a clear opportunity to expand. "Now, we are no doubt well-positioned to handle increased volumes of claims as we continue to gain market share in Washington," Quesada said.

Tony Oeun, who recently joined the GEICO Renton team as a claims representative, said he was initially attracted to GEICO because of the sheer amount of opportunities that the company presented to its associates. "So far into my new job, I am thoroughly impressed with the company's dedication to the community as well as its associates," Oeun said. "Whether it is through the tuition reimbursement program or its ability to motivate its associates, GEICO has provided a positive image to the Seattle/Renton region."
