GEICO Dallas begins first of its moves to Richardson

DALLAS, TEXAS, March 9, 2016 – GEICO's Dallas regional office is moving to a new location at 2280 North Greenville Avenue in Richardson, Texas. The new Dallas office will house more than 2,000 GEICO associates over time and provides more opportunities for future jobs, growth and expansion.

"It's a great time to be at GEICO," said Bob Miller, GEICO senior vice president. "We are growing at a rapid pace and the new location gives us an ample opportunity to bring on new associates in a more collaborative work environment."

GEICO's new Dallas office features 242,000 square-feet of floor space in a campus styled setting and offers associates additional parking. The new location is also close to the Galatyn Park DART light rail station and numerous bus routes.

Miller mentioned that the new office is just a short distance from their current location. "We pride ourselves on being a good corporate partner in Dallas and we will remain active in the local community through our outreach efforts and charitable initiatives," said Miller.

GEICO has a long-standing history in the state. The company was founded in Texas during the midst of the Great Depression by Leo and Lillian Goodwin in 1936. The Dallas regional office opened in June 1986 to support the company's Southwest expansion. In 2015, GEICO reached a significant milestone of 1 million auto insurance policies in force in the Lone Star State. The move to Richardson coincides with GEICO's 30th anniversary in the region.

GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies and is the second-largest private passenger auto insurance company in the United States. GEICO, which was founded in 1936, provides millions of auto insurance quotes to U.S. drivers annually. The company is pleased to serve more than 14 million private passenger customers and insures more than 23 million vehicles (auto & cycle).

Using GEICO's online service center, policyholders can purchase policies, make policy changes, report claims and print insurance ID cards. Policyholders can also connect to GEICO through the GEICO App, reach a representative over the phone or visit a GEICO local agent.

GEICO also provides insurance quotes on motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), boats, travel trailers and motorhomes (RVs). Coverage for life, homes and apartments is written by non-affiliated insurance companies and is secured through the GEICO Insurance Agency. Commercial auto insurance and personal umbrella protection are also available.
