GEICO promotes Allison Carp to assistant vice president

WASHINGTON, D.C., Mar. 19, 2016 – Allison Carp of Potomac, Md., has been named assistant vice president at GEICO where she is responsible for pricing, product and reserving activities.

Carp began her career with GEICO in 1994 and has since held a number of positions in both reserving and pricing. While previously serving as director of pricing and product management, Carp was instrumental in GEICO's reentry into the Massachusetts market. She currently serves as director and assistant actuary in reserving.

"We are fortunate to have someone with Allison's background moving into this position," said GEICO senior vice president Bob Miller. "I am confident that her reserving experience makes her well suited to take on this new challenge."

Carp holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and completed studies to become a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).

She succeeds Paul Lavrey, who retired from GEICO in January after a 33-year career with the company.

GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company), the second-largest auto insurer in the U.S., was founded in 1936 and insures more than 28 million vehicles.
