GEICO names Sheryl Weldon assistant vice president of mid-Atlantic claims operations

FREDERICKSBURG, Va., July 21, 2017 – Sheryl Weldon of Virginia Beach, Va., was recently named assistant vice president of claims for GEICO's Fredericksburg, Va., regional office with responsibility for the company's mid-Atlantic claims operations.

Before assuming her new role, Weldon completed GEICO's Executive Assistant Program, rotating duties and responsibilities in a number of company departments and leading multiple special projects for GEICO's senior leadership team.

Weldon began her career at GEICO in 1999, as a claims service examiner in the company's Lakeland, Fla., regional office. In 2004, she was named claims trainer at GEICO's Tucson office. The following year, Weldon relocated to the company's Buffalo regional office and served as a claims manager.

In 2010, she returned to Lakeland and headed the region's Fort Lauderdale branch operations. Three years later, Weldon was promoted to liability director for GEICO's regional office in Virginia Beach, Va., prior to becoming an executive assistant in 2016.

She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Medaille College in Buffalo, N.Y.
