Indy GEICO associate sells 25,000th policy
INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 16, 2018 – Daniel Gordon has sold his 25,000th GEICO policy, an achievement that puts him in an elite class and symbolizes his dedication to customer service.
Achieving milestones is nothing new for Gordon. Over the course of his more than 12-year long career at GEICO, he has consistently been among the insurer's most accomplished salespeople. This most recent feat, however, took him by surprise.
"I have my daily, monthly and yearly goals that keep me motivated, but I had no idea of the amount of sales I've had since I've been with GEICO until I was told I had sold my 25,000th policy," Gordon said.
Indianapolis Sales Director Benquetta Williams broke the good news to Gordon. She says his success is no surprise to those who know him.
"Dan has an ability to put customers at ease and identify their needs," she said. "His drive and professionalism are contagious, and he inspires others."
Though Gordon says GEICO's competitive prices and quality insurance products make selling easy, it's made even easier because he follows a key golden rule: honesty is the best policy.
"I paint a clear picture for customers to show them how GEICO looks compared to other companies," he said. "Customers have a lot of faith in me because I am very honest. I tell it like it is; I am from New York, after all."
The Hoosier State has been home to Gordon and his wife Elisa, who's also a GEICO sales associate, since 2014. The couple relocated from GEICO's Long Island regional office to the then brand new Indianapolis office. He says it's a decision they have never regretted.
"There are great schools here, low property tax rates, a low cost of living," he said. "We had our first daughter last year and just moved into a big house. I cannot even fathom a place that is more perfect for starting a new family."
GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company), the second-largest auto insurer in the U.S., was founded in 1936 and insures more than 28 million vehicles.
