Kim elected GEICO assistant VP of underwriting
WOODBURY, N.Y., Aug. 13, 2019 – The GEICO Board of Directors has elected Will Kim assistant vice president of underwriting for the company's regional operations in Woodbury, New York.
Kim began his GEICO career in 2005 as a customer service management trainee in the Woodbury, New York regional office. He then moved into the product management division in 2006, progressing from analyst to product manager and relocating to GEICO corporate headquarters in Chevy Chase, Maryland, in 2012. During his time in product management, Kim held responsibility for profitable growth in the New York, Mid-Atlantic, Southwest and West Coast regions.
In 2015, Kim joined the underwriting, research, and control division, working his way from supervisor to manager of customer analytics and fraud. In that role, he focused on developing new ways to harness data to improve customer experience, risk segmentation and identify premium leakage.
Last year, Kim was promoted to director of corporate planning and control where he supported GEICO's planning and execution efforts.
Kim earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
