GEICO's Grace Hopper Celebration Page wins WEB Award
CHEVY CHASE, Md., Sept. 30, 2019 – GEICO is proud to announce that the company has received a 2019 WEB-Award for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development from the Web Marketing Association. GEICO won the "Employment Standard of Excellence" honor for its Grace Hopper Celebration Landing Page, which was developed to spotlight the company's award-winning commitment to supporting women in technology.
At its 2017 Grace Hopper Celebration, AnitaB.org, an organization that strives to connect, inspire and guide women in technology fields, awarded GEICO the "Top Companies for Women Technologists" honor (for companies with a technical workforce of between 1,000 and 10,000 employees). Last year, GEICO was named one of AnitaB.org's "Top Five Companies for Women Technologists."
GEICO IT has been applauded for creating several rotational programs providing ongoing training for continued professional growth for entry level technologists up to those in management. Those programs include the Emerging Leaders IT Program, the Technology Development Program, the Veterans IT Program, the Cybersecurity Development Program and IT Internships, all of which provide a holistic view of GEICO's innovative IT approach and continual support and mentoring opportunities.
In addition to the AnitaB.org and Web Marketing Association honors, GEICO's Indianapolis-based IT Center of Excellence was honored earlier this year with the Exceptional Employer award from TechPoint, and the GEICO Mobile App has claimed several honors, including a top ranking from Dynatrace.
GEICO has had great success is finding IT talent at the Grace Hopper Celebration, and members of the GEICO IT team are among the thousands attending this week's 2019 Grace Hopper Celebration in Orlando.
