Lakeland associate takes pride in helping Spanish-speaking customers
LAKELAND, Fla., Oct. 10, 2019 – Two years ago, Nahum "Emilio" Motino Vallecillo was looking for new, exciting career opportunities when he applied at GEICO.
"I knew I wasn't using my skills to their fullest potential, and I wanted to work for a company that would allow me to do that," said Emilio, who was born in Honduras and grew up in Louisiana and Florida.
Emilio works on the bilingual customer service team at GEICO's Lakeland, Florida, regional office. The team prides itself on being a close-knit family and providing one-of-a-kind service to customers.
"My coworkers and management team are all very involved and invested in all of us," he said. "Every day, they challenge me to be the best version of myself that I can be."
Language can be a barrier that prevents some people from receiving quality customer service; Emilio knows that all too well. He's proud to tell his family, friends and others that he works for a company that has eliminated that barrier for customers.
"I feel fortunate to work in a department where I can help other Spanish-speakers with all of their insurance needs," Emilio said. "I give customers my very best because they deserve it."
