  • How do I apply?

    During the spring semester, please search for internships and  submit an online application. Be sure to select the location that interests you most.

  • What is the application deadline?

    Application deadlines vary by location. Typically, the application window opens in September and closes in April.

  • Which majors are eligible?

    We recruit business majors, including finance, economics, management, accounting, marketing, mathematics, insurance and related fields. Our Maryland corporate office recruits computer science and related majors.

  • I'm a Psychology major. Can I apply?

    All applicants will be considered. However, due to the analytical nature of our business and the structure of our program, we prefer business, math and computer science related majors.

    If you have a different major, yet have taken business courses, please include them on your resume and application.

  • Where do GEICO's interns work?

    We are hiring summer interns in all locations. Technology, actuarial, and accounting internships are located in Maryland.

  • Which department will I work in?

    At our MD corporate office, IT interns work on a variety cutting-edge technical projects. Interns in AZ, CA, FL, GA, IN, NY, TX and VA will experience our major business operations, including Sales, Customer Service, Auto Damage and/or Claims.

  • What is the hiring process?

    The first step is to search for an internship and submit an online application; once it is received, our team will review your information. First round interviews are typically conducted over the phone or in-person.

    After further evaluation, some candidates may be invited for on-site interviews. Some offices may also conduct testing and role plays.

  • Is there a GPA requirement?

    Yes, most offices require at least a 3.0 overall GPA.

  • I'm a freshman or sophomore. Can I apply?

    Our internships require skills and knowledge generally acquired after completing some upper-level courses. Therefore, we typically hire students who have completed their sophomore or junior year.

  • Does GEICO offer paid internships?

    Yes, all interns receive competitive compensation.

  • How many hours per week will I work?

    Interns work 38.75 hours per week, and most will work Monday - Friday, however, some schedules may include weekend hours. Please ask your recruiter for more information.

  • Does GEICO pay for housing?

    At this time, only certain internship programs at our corporate office offer a housing allowance. Please ask your recruiter for more information.

  • Can I receive college credit for my internship?

    Students interested in receiving credit will need to first check with their university about course requirements with your internship coordinator. We will do our best to work with you!
