Management Development Program

For Creating Future Business Leaders

With more than 16 million policies in force (and growing), our Sales, Customer Service, Claims and Auto Damage departments have been expanding for more than a decade. This has created the need to hire more future business leaders in each key area—that's where you fit in. In this program, you will learn all about one of our major insurance operations and be on the fast-track to management. We'll give you all the tools you will need to succeed:

  • Industry-leading training and development seminars
  • Professional insurance licensing
  • On-the-job experience, mentoring, and coaching
  • Real life business projects and much more

At the end of your program, you'll be ready to manage a team of associates. We'll help you get started...it's up to you how far you'll go!

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or a related field, and a 3.0 overall GPA required.

To Impact The Whole Business

Emerging Leaders gain a holistic view of GEICO's overall business or IT operations through in-depth job rotations. This selective program offers two tracks:

  • Operations Management – Learn about our dynamic business from the ground up. In this track, you will rotate through several departments, attend training classes, receive hands-on experience, coach associates, and contribute to company-wide projects.
  • Information Technology – You will work with innovative teams and utilize the latest in web and mobile technologies, while developing your own technical, business, and project management skills.

As one of GEICO's Emerging Leaders, you will be mentored by executives, attend leadership conferences, and work on projects that impact our business. Our goal is to develop you into a successful operations manager or IT lead.

Designed for Business, Math, IT and related majors overall GPA of 3.5 required.

What's your favorite thing about working at GEICO?

I really like working with a broad range of associates, as well as leading associates in my department. At GEICO, we value the unique perspectives each associate brings to their individual teams. Our associates are the backbone of our success.

How has GEICO helped you progress in your career?

Hard work and dedication are the keys to my success at GEICO. My time in the Emerging Leaders Program prepared me to take on greater levels of responsibility while gaining a deep understanding of GEICO's business and the insurance industry. I am very proud of my career progression and am now a Claims Director.

What's your favorite thing about working at GEICO?

I value the focus GEICO places on ensuring associates receive the coaching and training needed for success. GEICO culture and management prioritizes putting the associate first.

How has GEICO helped you progress in your career?

As a college graduate, I started in GEICO's Management Development Program in Claims.  Through this fast-track program, I was able to learn liability claims while moving into my management rotations. I benefitted from being paired with experienced supervisors who taught me the best techniques for coaching and supporting associates.  I earned my promotion to supervisor after successfully completing the program and I can attest to its effectiveness in preparing me to lead.
